Of all the places we visited on the Amalfi Coast, we liked Amalfi most. We were delighted that this is where we chose to stay. It is a town with a tiny beach and loads of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. It is alive 24/7.
The most popular hangout is the water fountain where people queue up to drink, fill their water bottles or wash the sticky ice cream from their faces. The young lady statue with water sprouting with her nipples was popular with some and ignored by others.
The cathedral keeps you up to date with its bells that toll every quarter hour – until midnight. They don’t keep you awake! It is a pretty cathedral, set on top of long steep steps. The steps make a popular resting place, particularly with the trendy, younger people.
