Latvia

The eastern side of Latvia hugs the Russian border and we found that it is not too far removed from the culture. An interesting experience.

After visiting Estonia and Finland we returned to Latvia to explore a very different western side of the country, stopping first at the castles of Cēsis and the Gaujas National Park, onto its beautiful capital Rīga. We took a day drive to the Jūrmala beach and Kemeri National Park. Our last stop was the delightful seaside villages of Ventspils, Kuldīga and Liepāj.

We continued our Baltic adventure in Lithuania.
