Bruce was getting itchy feet. True, we have a big journey planned later in the year, but he was watching me work, thinking of all the money I was earning and devising ways to spend it. So here we are in The Kingdom of Tonga for a 10 day R&R break. Yes, retirement is hard work.
Tonga is the first country to have a sunrise, just west of the date line. Tonga is made up of 176 islands that is spread over a massive 700,000 sq km of ocean – that is three Victoria’s or 7/8th of New South Wales. The total population is about 106,000 spread over 40 islands.
