Sunday 19 to Thursday 23 July
A sharp turn east took us to the Napa Valley. I was amazed at the amount of renovation in Napa, until we realised that an earthquake had hit just under a year ago, rendering many buildings unuseable.
We drove through the valley in a clockwise direction. The vineyards were beautiful and souless.
I never realised just how close Napa is to San Francisco – a 90 minute drive and we were in the cool mists that envelope SF every summer.
We walked back and forth on the Golden Gate bridge and enjoyed an up and down hill ride on the cable car. We also walked until our legs ached.
